Paradise Honey 6-Frame Standard Langstroth Nucleus Hive Body
This Paradise Honey 6-Frame Standard Langstroth Nucleus Hive Body is manufactured from high-density polystyrene (EPS) and is designed for use with Paradise Honey Langstroth nuc systems. The body is compatible with standard Langstroth deep (brood) frames at 232 mm deep.
The modular design of Paradise Honey nucs, similar to that of a full-sized hive, allows nuc bodies to be stacked on top of one another. This can be useful when uniting nucs, for example after a queen has been removed, or when additional space is required. The availability of compatible medium-depth bodies also allows a super to be added to a nuc, making it easier to manage strong colonies or prepare nucs for overwintering.
In some configurations, 6-frame Langstroth nucs can be used as small hives for extended or year-round use, with nuc bodies serving as brood chambers and medium bodies used for the honey crop. While a 6-frame jumbo Langstroth brood body offers a brood volume similar to a standard British National brood chamber, some beekeepers may prefer to use medium frames throughout the colony to reduce lifting weight and maintain flexibility in frame management.
This nucleus body is supplied with two plastic frame runners, helping to protect the polystyrene during inspections and routine hive work.
