These Press-In Cages are handmade in England at our Simon The Beekeeper factory in Lancashire.
Sharp pins are carefully driven through a composite circular ring, followed by precise threading to form a secure grid.
To use, first locate your queen and gently press the cage into the frame, ensuring she is not harmed. If possible, guide her to an area of the frame without brood. Press the cage further into the frame to secure the queen, allowing you to mark her. You can use a pen, paint, or colored discs for marking, with the color indicating the year of the queen’s birth. If using paint or a pen, slightly lift the cage to allow her to move but not escape, giving the marking time to dry. Once the marking is dry and you’re satisfied, fully lift the cage and release her.
