The Swienty National Poly Hive Floor provides a strong, insulated, and easy-to-maintain foundation for your hive. Designed for use with either the Swienty Poly Hive or most British National wooden hives, it combines durability and functionality to help you maintain a healthy, productive colony.
This innovative floor features an integrated ridged landing board, a ventilated mesh base, and a removable inspection tray — making it simple to monitor hive debris and Varroa mite activity. The mesh design encourages excellent airflow and temperature regulation within the hive, reducing moisture build-up and improving colony health.
Constructed from high-density polystyrene (HDP) — up to three times stronger than standard packaging foam — this floor is lightweight, robust, and highly insulating. Its superior thermal properties help keep your bees warmer in winter and cooler in summer, supporting year-round hive stability and productivity.
To maximise its lifespan and protect it from UV damage, we recommend painting the exterior with our specialist poly hive paint, providing long-lasting weather protection and a smooth, professional finish.
