When positioned beneath the lid, this eke converts your standard poly nuc into a version capable of housing six 14x12 jumbo frames, allowing you to raise larger colonies or transition smoothly between frame sizes. The intelligent design ensures that you retain full access to the feeder without needing to remove any frames, making inspections and feeding more efficient and stress-free for both you and your bees.
Beyond its use for jumbo frames, the eke also serves multiple purposes throughout the beekeeping year. During the winter months, it provides extra space above the frames for placing fondant or candy to support your colony through cold weather. It’s also ideal for applying varroa treatments such as Apiguard, ensuring that treatments can be administered easily and effectively.
